We're excited to announce a set of new features now available in BIM 360 Docs. Available immediately to BIM 360 Docs users, these updates include markup capabilities for 3D design files, improved file publishing workflows and more powerful project administration functions.
3D Markups
The BIM 360 Docs web interface now includes the ability to create, view and manage markups on 3D design files. Featuring the same markup toolbar options available for 2D markups, users can now add clouds, shapes, arrows and comments to any design file in the Plans or Shop Drawings folder. Markups can be quickly reviewed in the markup panel to enable design and construction collaboration.
Streamlined Publishing of Files
A host of new enhancements have been added to improve the process of publishing new files to project folders.
- Uploading large files can take some time, so we've added email notifications for file uploads to let users know when files have completed processing. Users can simply start the upload, and will get an email when the files are ready for viewing -- or alerted if they need to take action (like add title block information) to finish the upload process.
- The review page for our title block extraction process has been enlarged to make it easier to select and review data
- New in-app tips have been added to guide users through the publishing process for design files
BIM 360 Account Administration
Account administrators can quickly access projects in their account, and easily assign administrators to specific projects. One click access to both account administration (BIM 360 HQ) and project administration have been added and are displayed depending on access levels.
BIM 360 Docs is rapidly evolving and new features and enhancements will be released on a regular basis. Keep an eye out on the BIM 360 blog to stay up to date on the latest and greatest with BIM 360 Docs.
